FAQ

Based on the search results, here are some of the most common myths about chiropractic care:

  1. Chiropractic care is dangerous or unsafe.

Chiropractic adjustments are generally safe when performed by trained professionals. Serious adverse events are extremely rare.

  2. Chiropractors are not real doctors.

Chiropractors undergo extensive education and training, including undergraduate studies followed by a 4-5 year doctoral program to earn a Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

  3. Chiropractic treatment is not scientifically proven.

Studies have shown evidence supporting the efficacy of chiropractic care for managing musculoskeletal conditions.

  4. Chiropractic care is only for back pain.

While back pain is common, chiropractors treat a wide range of conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system, including neck pain, headaches, joint pain, and more.

  5. Chiropractic care requires lifelong commitment.

Many patients experience relief after just a few treatments. The duration of care depends on the individual's condition and needs.

  6. Chiropractic care is expensive.

Chiropractic treatment is often covered by insurance and can be more cost-effective than traditional medical care for certain conditions.

  7. Chiropractic care is not safe for children.

When performed by trained professionals, chiropractic care can be safely adapted for people of all ages, including children.

  8. You need a referral to see a chiropractor.

In most cases, you can see a chiropractor without a referral, though some insurance plans may require one for coverage.
